Understanding Chlorine & Exploring Alternative Disinfection (#1902) 
CT DPH approved for BOTH Treatment and Distribution as well as CT DEEP approved for Wastewater

This training is intended to provide certified TREATMENT AND DISTRIBUTION water operators and operators-in-training, wastewater operators and other water and wastewater personnel with a basic understanding of the history and progression of why chlorine makes a good disinfectant, why it is used so extensively and is an important chemical used in the water and wastewater industries today. 

An overview of different chemicals and/or means used to de-chlorinate will also be presented. Additionally, when and where which type of chemical should be used as well as the associated safety and environmental issued will be addressed. The need and methods to monitor the efficiency of the de-chlorination will also be discussed.

Individuals registered for one of ASRWWA's training classes or seminars will be charged the class fee if we have not received notice of cancellation prior to the class. Anyone contacting ASRWWA to cancel enrollment in a class will receive a cancellation number. In the event of an emergency, which would prevent attendance, please contact Atlantic States as asrwwa@asrwwa.org  as soon as possible with the details.
